DDA Compliance doors

The DDA legislation (Disability Discrimination Act Part 111), places a duty on all service providers in the UK to remove or alter physical features in their buildings that make access to services either impossible or unreasonably difficult for a person with disabilities, either by adapting an entrance to make it suitable for disabled people to use or creating a new disabled entrance.

Further to this, recent UK Building Regulations (Document M) have been published which mandate that all new building construction, intended for public use or access, must comply fully with the DDA legislation in relation to disabled entrances. It further states that a way of achieving compliance, is to fit automatic operatorsto existing manual swing door entrances or any manual doors on travel routes used by disabled persons, to make them more readily available for disabled useor replacing existing doors with either new automatic sliding doors or automatic swing doors to create a new disabled entrance. This Act is in addition to the requirement for employers to provide equal access for able bodied and disabled staff to the work place highlighting the need to consider the creation of disabled entrances and access to an individual’s place of work within a building, using automatic swing doors or automatic sliding doors.

Automate UK Limited Attend Interbuild Exhibition – 06/06

Automate UK Limited, experts in the manufacture and installation of automatic door operators, aluminium and glass, recently attended the Interbuild show for the first time, where they received a huge amount of interest from a wide range of organisations including Local Authorities, Hospitals and many Retail outlets. All visitors to the stand were impressed with the wide range of services Automate UK offer including automatic sliding doors, automatic swing doors and aluminium and glass doors, windows and curtain walling, examples of which were all on display. Simon Haggart – Managing Director said: “The show has been a great success and has generated an enormous amount of business from which we have already secured many appointments and we have even received some orders. Automate UK Secure Kentucky Fried Chicken Contract - 11/05

Automate UK Limited, experts in the manufacture and installation of automatic door operators, aluminium and glass, are delighted to announce today the securing of the national contract to supply Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurants with their requirements for automatic door operators. KFC are currently undertaking a refurbishment programme of their estate of Restaurants and this includes the replacement & automation of their existing doors to improve access for all their customers. KFC chose Automate UK Limited, because of their experience in the field of automatic doors and particularly their successful installations into similar environments. Automate UK will install low energy automatic swing door operators onto KFC’s new aluminium doors.
