Battery Isolators

Battery isolators are something that quite often get overlooked. There are three main advantages to isolating your battery.

1. By isolating the power from your battery you’re protecting your vehicle from developing electrical faults while not in use.  If a circuit is isolated it’s safe.
2. Isolating the battery while your vehicle is not being used stops unnecessary wear, things such as batteries being over-charged, discharged or components left on standby can certainly shorten serviceable life.
3. Something that motorhomes and caravans can suffer with while stored for winter is battery discharge or what some would call a “parasitic drain”. If a battery is isolated from its loads it is far more likely to survive long periods where it is not being maintained.
